It was a very busy and exciting Christmas. There were lots of crafting projects and much baking to be done. I wasn’t sure I was going to finish in time but some how I did and it all came together. I made a lot of the gifts we gave this year and I think everyone loved them.
For my 5 nieces and my daughter-in-law I made Teddy Bears. My inspiration was Crochet Geek Ogeechee Bear
Box o Bears
Relaxing in the Rocker
Lily’s Bear and a Little Goldfish
Amanda’s Bear
Anna’s Bear
Sarah’s Bear
Erin’s Bear
Sammie’s Bear
I also made a Beanie Hat and Scarf for my step-daughter but I forgot to take a picture. I made a few potholders to go with Goody Boxes also. My Goody Boxes had Red Velvet Whoopie Pies, Iced Sugar Cookies, Iced Gingerbread Boy and Girl Cookies, Peppermint Meltaways, Fudge Cups, and German Chocolate Coconut Bars.
My home looked so lovely all decorated for the holidays. I didn’t want to take it all down but I guess leaving it up year round would make it less special. Last year I made Christmas Ornaments for my tree…
Some of the ornaments I made by putting a tiny bit of floor polish in the ball and then poured in glitter and shook it up. Others I poured crafting paint into the ball and left it upside down for the extra to drip out. I also made some by putting sand and tiny shells in the ball. Then I used scrapbooking stickers to decorate the outside.
The fireplace mantle all lit up and decorated
Christmas Eve we had a family get together at my house. My brother’s and their wives, my nieces, my Mom, and my son and his wife. We played the Game of Life and ate lots of food. Good times!
Then we had our usual family get together on Christmas morning. Biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, mmmmm . We got a great family picture this year! Here’s to all of you….
Happy New Year 2014!!
