I’m going to be a Nanna!

Well, yesterday was an exciting day! My son and his wife are expecting their first baby and yesterday was the Gender Reveal party. They did a fantastic job of keeping it secret from everyone. Even the grandmothers and great-grandmothers! The party was at their house and it was beautifully decorated for the event. Everyone brought a dish and they had cake and punch, deviled eggs, and other food prepared. There was even a “peep show” with blue and pink PEEPs. We all ate lunch and then gathered out in the recreation room for the big reveal. We separated into a pink team and a blue team and we had to face the wall. Then we were given silly string to spray. The silly string was either going to be pink or blue. They had a big canvas attached to the ceiling and it contained tons of balloons. Part of Amanda’s family lives out of state so connected through FaceTime they were able to be a part of the excitement. At 5 – 4- 3- 2 – 1 the cords on the canvas was pulled and we all turned around and sprayed silly string. And….

IT’S A BOY!!  Yay!!

I was wearing pink but I crocheted a scarf in blues and my fingernails are painted blue with little pink polka dots and pink baby feet on the ring fingers. I really wanted to represent both boy and girl because really all I want is a healthy grand-baby. This child is going to be the first great-grand-baby on both sides of the family, the first grand-baby on both sides of the family and the first baby!  This little boy is going to be loved so much by so many people. The name has already been picked out. It’s going to be Logan Allen. Such an awesome name.

I’ll keep you up to date as we get closer to the big day, August 27th. I’ve already started crocheting blankets. I’m going to make several and they’ll all be some variation of a granny square. Pictures soon!

I would like for the baby to call me Nanna and I asked hubby what he would like to be called and he said “Grumpy”. Sounds perfect.

The announcement about the new addition to the family was made on Facebook on Valentine’s Day. They’re such a beautiful couple!!

The gender announcement was yesterday, March 29th. Amanda is gorgeous. She’s glowing and her and Jason are so happy.

We’re all smiles :-)))
