My first grandchild Logan Allen was delivered on Aug. 17 at 2:22pm. After 22 hours of intense labor my grandson greeted the world. All 7lb 3 oz and 21 inches of perfection. My wonderful daughter-in-law, Amanda, had a difficult labor and just when we were thinking it was going to have to be a C-section Logan decided it was time. I wore a path into the hospital’s fake wood floor and linoleum as I paced up and down the hospital hallway. I couldn’t help but to think back to when my first child, Joshua, was delivered stillborn in 1982. I carried him full term and at 9 months went into labor. His poor little heart just couldn’t take it. I had my son, Jason, in 1983, and there were no problems in delivering him. Jason is Logan’s daddy. I just couldn’t seem to get the images of Joshua’s birth out of my mind and I was so scared. Amanda’s labor was very rough and at times Logan’s heart rate would drop and I thought my heart would stop. Everything worked out though and I have the most wonderful, magical, miraculous grandson. I’m his Nanna and I will love him always.
He has the most beautiful complexion for a newborn. He’s not splotchy. He’s just perfect.
