Quilt of Valor presentation on Veteran’s Day 2016

Yesterday, Veteran’s Day, I had the honor and privilege of presenting a quilt that I made to a wonderful person that served in World War II. He served as an aviator in England and was part of the invasion into France. It was an emotional and rewarding experience that I hope to be able to repeat in the future. There were approximately 200 people in attendance and six veteran’s being recognized. All of the veteran’s in the audience were asked to stand for recognition and it was incredible to see that at least 50% of the attendees have served our great country. It’s still evident, regardless, of the chaos since the elections this past week, that a great many American’s still believe in our country and our flag and many are willing to put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms. I’m thankful that I was able to be included in the ceremony yesterday.
